About Christian Taylor Firms

Based in Raleigh, NC – Serving Clients Nationally

Christian Taylor is a licensed CPA and Attorney currently residing in North Carolina. She grew up in the midwest, and still considers herself to be a midwesterner at heart. But she enjoys the beautiful blue skies and temperate climate of North Carolina, as well as the warmth and friendliness of her community.

Christian joined the Army shortly after graduating high school. She served on active duty during the 9/11 tragedy which greatly impacted service members, first responders, and United States citizens alike. While on active duty, she began pursuing her college education.

From the first accounting course Christian took, she discovered that she had a knack for the material and enjoyed learning it (even 16 years later, she still maintains the initial fondness she had for the profession). Christian obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Upper Iowa University in 2005, graduating with a 3.8 G.P.A. She decided to pursue a CPA credential during that time, which requires 150 credit hours of education.

Christian pursued her MBA through Upper Iowa University and graduated with a 4.0 G.P.A. in 2007, while working full-time in public accounting. During her career in public accounting, Christian worked for: 1) a firm of about 30 CPA’s, 2) a large regional firm, and 3) a small two-partner firm. These varying experiences exposed her to clients in many industries, and the many concerns that they face. The one thing that most of these clients had in common is that they were small business owners- who are the lifeblood of the U.S. economy. Christian discovered that she has a passion for assisting these small business owners during her time in public accounting.

In 2010, Christian enrolled in law school, pursuing a long-dormant dream of becoming an attorney. She enrolled in Western Michigan University- Thomas M. Cooley Law School and found that she also had a knack for the law. She graduated from Cooley in 2013, finishing in the top 4% of her class of over 400 students. In addition, she won multiple “book awards” for finishing with the highest grade in the course. During her time at Cooley, Christian pursued a concentration in tax law. Through Cooley’s business foundation courses, she enjoyed learning about how various laws impact businesses, and through her tax concentration she enjoyed learning about how the Internal Revenue Code impacts individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

Upon finishing law school in 2013, Christian decided to move to North Carolina. She passed the North Carolina bar in 2014 and also transferred her CPA certificate to North Carolina. Although Christian has pursued many short-term jobs as an independent contractor throughout her career, in November 2016 Christian decided to leap in with both feet and become fully self-employed. Since then she has started a CPA firm (Christian R Taylor, CPA, PLLC) and a law firm (Christian Taylor Attorney at Law, PLLC). She enjoys the personal fulfillment of doing the work that she enjoys, and seeing first-hand the direct impact of her work on her clients and their businesses.
